These overnight Bananas Foster Oats are the perfect breakfast or snack that you can prepare the night before and bring with you on the go. The chia seeds and oats are excellent sources of fiber that will keep you full and keep your gut microbiome happy and healthy. The banana not only gives you a little sweetness but also a ton of added health benefits from its rich nutrient content. Bananas are a good source of potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6 which help regulate blood pressure, mood, muscle and nerve function.

Food Farmacy

  • 1/2 cup of Gluten-Free Oats
  • 2 tablespoons Chia Seeds
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2-1 Cup Nut Milk of choice
  • Cinnamon

Directions

  1. Take two jars or bowls and mash a half of banana in each
  2. Then add the oats, chia seeds, and coconut sugar/maple syrup
  3. Mix together
  4. Pour the nut milk into the jar to cover the ingredients
  5. Throw in a few dashes of cinnamon
  6. Close lid and shake
  7. Let sit in the refrigerator overnight and enjoy in the morning!

This is a great recipe to make with any fruit you have that is becoming overly ripe. Mash up blueberries, strawberries or whatever other fruit you have around!

Chia seeds are another great source of soluble fiber. This means that they swell when sitting in your gut, keeping you full for longer periods of time. In addition, they also are a great plant-based source of calcium, protein and omega-3 fatty acids.
